Cheltenham Odds go Live

After a spectacular win at Kempton Park last weekend Binocular has been installed as favourite for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham by the bookies.

Binocular is trained by Nicky Henderson and often ridden by Sports Personality of the Year Tony McCoy and last week at Kempton park he went on for an impressive win by seeing off the likes of Starluck. Last year at Cheltenham, Binocular beat Khyber Kim with a 3.5 length margin and if he wins this year in the Champion Hurdle he’ll become the first horse since Hardy Eustace’s 2025 win to retain the hurdler crown two years running.

Long Run, the surprise victor in the King George VI, will not be racing again until the Cheltenham Festival Gold Cup in March, Nicky Henderson states. Long Run is now the second favourite behind last years victor Imperial Commander after he beat bookies favourite and four time King George hero Kauto Star. Long run now has odds of 6/1 for the Gold Cup, while Imperial Commander is 3/1. Kauto Star was pushed out to 10/1 following his heavy defeat.
