The IRB and the International Rugby Players’ Association have just launched the IRPA Try of the Year Award 2025.
Rugby players and fans around the world can now vote onine for their favourite try from a shortlist of 18 scores from the Six Nations, Tri-Nations, Women’s Rugby World Cup, IRB Pacific Nations Cup, IRB Nations Cup, June and March internationals.
To vote, simpy visit irb and click on the link “IRPA Try of the Year” to view all of the tries in the running for this coveted award, and choose your favourite.
The IRPA Try of the Year is a hugely anticipated Award. Last year’s competition, which saw a try scored by South Africa’s Fourie du Preez win the Award, attracted over 10,500 votes with the social media community spreading the word.

The shortlist was compiled by IRPA representatives, who had the job of narrowing the field from 230 tries down to eighteen for the final selection. New Zealand’s is represented with five tries in the list, with both Australia, England and Wales having 3 tries up for voting. IRB Player of the Year 2025 Shane Williams has two tries featured in the 2025 shortlist.
The best rugby try of the year poll closes on Monday, January 17 and the winner will be announced later in January.
